Following his great display in Le Mans, Christian Klien will also drive for Zele Racing at this weekend’s Renault Sport Trophy season closer in Jerez.

The former Formula One driver will be joined by Swiss talent Christof von Grünigen. The quick youngster is returning to  Zele Racing after his spell with the Austrian team’s AutoGP in 2014.

“Christof has already been with us in AutoGP showing great speed. He has since developed much more and we are looking forward to having him gain experience in the RS01 alongside Christian (Klien)“, team boss Michael Zele said.

Von Grünigen, who became the first Swiss driver in AutoGP in 2014, earned many lead laps with Zele Racing and enjoyed a run-away title in the Central European ESET V4 Formula Master in the same season.

The Fribourg-born racer has made quite an impact and is delighted about his opportunity. “The RS01 is a true bullet, a top class sportscar. It’s fantastic that I am given this chance. I am sure, I will get acquainted to the challenge quickly, because I already know Zele Racing well.“

In the second Zele car Bas Schothorst and Colombian rookie Andrés Méndez will continue fighting for points.
