Interserie Lausitzring – Milavec wins again in Formula – P2 in Sportscars

Another hot day in eastern Germany and another couple of podium finishes for the Zele-Racing Team. Peter Milavec (Dallara GP2 4.0 V8)was unbeatable in the Formula race. Starting from Poleposition he dominated the race from start to finish and pulled a gap of 55 seconds to second placed Karl – Heinz Becker (Dallara Nissan 3.4 V6).  Peter Randlshofer (Dallara Nissan 3.0 V6) completed the podium.

It was a tough one again in the Sportscar race. Starting from P2, Peter Milavec (Pilbeam Virage Honda 2.0 CN) dived ahead of Benny Hotz (Ligier Honda 2.0 CN) into Turn 1 and pulled away to build a 3 second lead. After 6 laps Hotz started to close the gap and finally overtook Milavec to take the lead. Thomas Conrad (Conrad Renault 2.0) was not able to follow the leaders and dropped behind.

Peter Milavec: „After about 7 or 8 laps i struggled with the grip of the tires. What i did not realise is, that we had an oil-leak. We only discovered this when i stopped the car in the pitlane. This explains why i was not able to follow Benny towards the end of the race. All in all i have to say that this was the best raceweekend i had in the past years. Everything worked well and the Zele-Racing Team did a great job.“

Michael Zele:“ It was a great weekend for all of us. We had lots of fun and absolutely no problems but that oilleak in the last race. To win 3 races and finish second in the 4th race is a pretty good achievement. I hope Hans Peter Voigt, who organised the event will be able to put it together again next year. „
