Zele misses TCR Spa race for Carrera Cup opener

17757316_1265092506877923_7120681585086740984_nZele Racing will not participate in the TCR International Series‘ next race in Belgium, due to a time conflict with the season opening race in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany

The Austrians enjoyed a great start into their maiden TCR International Series season, dominating pre-season testing and Free Practice at the first event in Georgia.

Driver Ferenc Ficza qualified on P3 and earned the first podium for the outfit coming as runner-up in Race 1. On round 2 in Bahrain, Ficza won pole position for race 2 and collected P6 in a rollercoaster ride decision.

18301306_10209103754770275_1469100838563450492_nHowever, Zele Racing will have to sit out round 3 at the notorious Spa-Francorchamps circuit, because it is run on the same weekend as the opener of their Porsche Carrera Cup Germany programme on Hockenheimring.

„It’s a pity, but we cannot be in two places at the same time,“ team boss Michael Zele said.

Regardless, Zele has confirmed that the team will return to the TCR grid for rounds 4 in Monza, Italy, and round 5, in Salzburgring, their home race.
