Following a two month summer break, the inaugural season of the Renault R.S.01 Sport Trophy continues at the “Home of British Motorracing” in Silverstone this coming weekend. Austria’s only team, Zele Racing, wants to tie in with the good form from Hungary, where Vittorio Ghirelli came third to pocket the first podium of the season.

“Since sports car racing is new to us, it took some time to settle in. But Hungary was already pretty good and we did some intensive testing over the summer, so we are all set for Britain”, team boss Michael Zele said.

Zele Racing has a long and successful history in Formula racing, but 2015 marks its first year in sports cars.

New to the line-up is Colombian youngster Andres Mendez, who used to run for Zele in the AutoGP season.

“Andres did a good job in testing and has improved rapidly. We are quite excited to see how he will do in his first competitive outing on the weekend”, Zele added.

The Austrians will again run two cars with Ghirelli and Philippe Bourgois forming the one, and Bas Schothorst and Mendez the other pair.
