The Austrian outfit had an unlucky start into the weekend at their home track. Driver Christoph von Grünigen showed good lap times during the qualifying session on the Red Bull Ring and easily qualified for the second stage of the session.

However, instead of continuing to battle in the Top 4, he suffered from an exhaust failure on two cylinders. “Due to the massive lack of power and in top speed, we had to abort Q2”, team boss Michael Zele revealed.

Since von Grünigen had to retire early, he dropped to P8 and will start into the first of Sunday’s two races from row 4.

“It’s a pity, because the pace was there. We will have to attack tomorrow and see how far we can move up”, the Swiss said.

Race 1 will start 8:30 am, while the lights go green for the second run at 11:20 am.
